Privacy, Cookies & our Terms of Service

Summary

Due to recent changes in European law, esspecially the introduction of GDPR I felt that in order to protect both sourcemoddings interests and that of its users I would clearly outline how sourcemodding.com uses cookies during guest and user sessions.

I will cover how users can disable them as well as outline exactly what our privacy policy is, and how users can request to see their stored data and honoring requests for account deletion.

A Terms of Service has been added which you must adhere to when using sourcemodding.com

Cookies

What are Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your computer by your web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox) at the request of a site you’re viewing. This allows the site you’re viewing to remember things about you, such as your preferences and history or to keep you logged in.

Cookies may be stored on your computer for a short time (such as only while your browser is open) or for an extended period of time, even years. Cookies not set by this site will not be accessible to us.

Unfortunately in most cases there are no industry standard options for disabling cookies without completely disabling the functionality and features they add to this site. It is recommended that you leave on all cookies if you are not sure whether you need them or not in case they are used to provide a service that you use.

Our Cookie Usage

This site uses cookies for numerous things, including:

    • Registration and maintaining your preferences.
This includes ensuring that you can stay logged in and keeping the site in the language or appearance that you requested.
      sourcemodding uses WordPress cookies

  • Third-party cookies.
sourcemodding uses Trello.com (Used for displaying the sourcemodding Roadmap on the frontpage), Youtube (For the numerous embeded youtube videos located around the site) and Google ReCaptcha

Removing / Disabling Cookies

Managing your cookies and cookie preferences must be done from within your browser’s options/preferences. Here is a list of guides on how to do this for popular browser software:

As a Guest User (without a registered account)
You can blanket disable all cookies under the domain sourcemodding.com and the site will function exactly the same way it would with all cookies enabled.

Cookies set by Google, Youtube & Trello must be disabled seperately as they are thirdparty cookies.
Note: This will likely affect your experience on other sites that use these services.

sourcemodding.com also uses client side browser local storage to retain entered form information which is only used to refill the form should your submission fail due to an error.
